<p>Post: Social Enterprise Support Worker – Fixed term for 2 years</p><p>Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday</p><p>Location: Based locally in CCI offices, with some travel to task based sites expected </p><p>Pay: £20,000 - £22,500 per annum depending on experience</p><p>Introduction to Clydesdale Community Initiatives (CCI)</p><p>Clydesdale Community Initiatives (CCI) is an innovative social enterprise with a core mission to give people who are experiencing significant barriers to inclusion and employment, due to their learning disability, mental health issue or other challenging circumstance, the opportunity to make a positive contribution to their community. On a day to day basis our participants are supported to engage in projects that make a tangible high profile difference to their community. These projects range from therapeutic gardening in the community, workshops creating features for community art projects, to working alongside our social enterprise teams on semi commercial landscape construction or woodcraft projects. </p><p>The role of the Placement and Enterprise Practitioner This is an exciting new post funded through the Big Lottery Fund with match funding from income generated by CCI social enterprises. The aim of the role will be to expand both the number of individuals that are being engaged in our programmes and also the range of activities in which people can participate. On a day to day basis the placement and enterprise worker will work with individuals with a wide range of support needs, supporting them to form groups focused around micro enterprise tasks that might include gardening, wood crafts, soap making, food processing, upcycling or any other project which we can accommodate. The aim of these groups will be to enable people to develop new skills, improve their health and increase their personal confidence and expectations. Our person centred approach has an emphasis on both participant contribution to their community and successful task completion. The role will therefore require real dynamism both in its people practice and in its task focus. JOB DESCRIPTION</p><p>Tasks:</p><p> Running groups in a person centred way, where people with support needs contribute to a valuable task in activities such as horticulture, landscaping, woodcraft and other social enterprises.  Working with individuals to develop their personal plan, set their goals and targets, and ensure that they can participate in activities.  Fully engage with all aspects of the CCI model of social enterprise and inclusion e.g. planning with individuals, planning activities and enterprises, liaising with a wide range of partners from NHS community health teams to Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT) and other enterprise initiatives.  Deliver programmes and contribute to the development of new targets and projects.  Undertake reviews of individual placements and writing reports.  Contribute to monitoring and evaluation and funding priorities. </p><p>Essential Qualities: </p><p> Outstanding ability to engage with and motivate people with a wide range of support needs such as long term mental health issues and other complex additional support needs.  Preparedness to share responsibility and take pride in the delivery and completion of practical tasks and enterprises such as horticulture, landscaping, environmental activities and woodwork etc.,  Be flexible and respond to both the needs of our individuals and the demands of the social enterprise activities.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Commitment to continual development of people and practical skills.  Full driving licence essential.</p><p>Qualifications and Experience The Placement and Enterprise Practitioner will be expected to take responsibility for organising and delivering groupwork and personal development programmes, they will therefore need to be able to demonstrate that they are confident and competent in initiating, planning, delivering, monitoring and reporting projects and programmes.</p><p>It would be desirable for applicants to have qualifications or experience in community education, social work, youth work, horticultural therapy or equivalent. </p><p>However, please note that confidence, a willingness to learn to learn relevant practical skills in areas such as gardening, woodcraft, food processing, a person centred approach and a uncompromising can do attitude both to group management and practical enterprise tasks are the most essential qualities for this post and will be considered above previous experience and qualifications. </p>
