
<p> THE UNIFIED STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION</p><p>OF</p><p>LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO</p><p>MEASURE OF THE SENATE The Voting Records Amendment To assign the Speaker of the Senate the duty to register iClickers and to send voting records to the CCO </p><p>______- ______- ______to be filed by the Secretary of the Senate</p><p>Signed by the President of the Unified Student Government Association</p><p>Chiefly Sponsored By: Danish Murtaza, Chair of the Constitutional Review Board</p><p>Co-Sponsored By: The Constitutional Review Board The Voting Records Amendment To assign the Speaker of the Senate the duty to register iClickers and to send voting records to the Chief Communications Officer </p><p>Whereas, The Loyola University Chicago, hereafter referred to as Loyola, student body requires access to voting records pertaining to all legislative measures, and </p><p>Whereas, Having access to these voting records allows the Loyola student body to keep the Senators of the Unified Student Government Association, hereafter referred to as the USGA, accountable, and </p><p>Whereas, There is currently an unclear provision in the USGA Articles of Governance regarding registration of iClickers which electronically record votes for each Senator, and </p><p>Whereas, There is currently no provision in the USGA Articles of Governance regarding how the USGA’s Chief Communications Officer obtains any voting record, and </p><p>Therefore, Be it resolved, that the USGA makes the following additions to the USGA Articles of Governance Article 8, §1: </p><p>(B) The Speaker shall assign and register an iClicker for each Senator. Each assigned iClicker will be distributed at the beginning of each Senate meeting. (C) The Speaker shall record the votes on all legislative measures and submit those records to the Chief Communications Officer within 48 hours of adjournment of the Senate meeting at which those votes took place. i. The voting record shall include the following: name of the legislative measure, the final vote tally, the names of the Senators who voted in the affirmative, the names of the Senators who voted in the negative, and the names of the Senators who abstained. </p>
