Bills:</p><p>A Message from the Senate.</p><p>To the Speaker and other Members of the House of Representatives.</p><p>“ Mr. Speaker, and other Members of the House of Representatives, the Senate at its Sitting on Friday 24th November, 2017, considered the Bill for an Act shortly entitled, National Insurance (Amendment) Act, 2017, and made the following amendments:</p><p>1. Clause 2 was repealed and replaced with the following:</p><p>Amendment to section 36 of principal Act 2. Section 36 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after subsection (2A) the following new subsection-</p><p>“(3) Notwithstanding the provisions of this section and subject to subsection (4), nothing contained therein shall prevent the payment of sickness benefits directly to an employer of an insured person, provided that written instructions have been received from the insured person. (4) For the purposes of subsection (3), the payment of sickness benefits paid to the employer shall not exceed the sum paid (by the employer) to the insured person in respect of the sickness benefits.”.”</p><p>The Senate recommends that the aforementioned amendments be considered by the House of Representatives.</p><p>2</p>
