
<p>Emergency Management Adoption TC Meeting Notes 01/17/2016</p><p>Attendees: Rex Brooks Elysa Jones Tom Ferrentino Dan Nielsen </p><p>Emergency Management Adoption TC Report/Discussion</p><p>We had a quorum, and approved Meeting Notes from 12-06-2016 as amended.</p><p>We reviewed the outline of a Value Chain Analysis for the EDXL-StratML EDXL promotion for the new year in the context of considering the use of StrategicLearningApp.com. </p><p> Research (working out what standards are needed and what problems EDXL solves) -- This is something we have done for each of the EDXL specifications, so we have a well-worked out methodology of sub-processes. o Consult with Practitioners/Government Sponsors/NGO Consortia o Gather requirements from above (formal requirements/candidate specifications) Standard Development o Define Scope from Requirements o Define Vocabulary and Data Model o Write Specification Standard Approval (getting OASIS EM TC Committee Specification Approval, OASIS Standard Approval) Standard Versioning uses overall process in sequence based on feedback from implementors/users EDXL Family-wide Promotion o Provide overall UML class model with each specification included along with supporting elements o Provide StratML-based Strategy for overall EDXL family . Breakdown of audience/markets and needs/motivations for each in relation to EDXL . Breakdown of SOA v. Microservice Architecture for EDXL software implementations . Breakdown of Platforms, DBMS, Application Delivery Systems--mobile devices, cloud-based data persistence -- needs much more work . Breakdown of Key Technologies (XML vs. JSON for inter- service messaging/communications) EDXL Individual Standard/Committee Specification Promotion o Provide individual database schema for each specification and supporting elements (Based on overall UML Datamodel)? Technology vendor marketing and sign up Vendor product development</p><p>We discussed setting up a tutorial session on Jan. 26, 2017. All were available. </p><p>Elysa said that the CAP Workshop is scheduled for Rome on September 20th and 21st and that leaves the 22nd for an EDXL Day if we can drum up support.</p><p>Elysa also mentioned that she would like to see validators for the EDXL standards and specification similar to the Google CAP Validator mentioned in the RIM SC meeting today. </p><p>Tom said he could ask BCG what would be helpful to them in the way of an EDXL Toolkit/Framework. </p><p>There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.</p><p>Respectfully Submitted, Rex Brooks</p>
