E. 13 GREENE, JR., IN CELEBRATION OF THE FIRST OFFICIAL 14 WORSHIP SERVICE IN THEIR NEW CHURCH BUILDING 15 ON SUNDAY, MAY 29, 2001. 16 17 Whereas, Andrew Chapel Baptist Church in Orangeburg began 18 more than one hundred twenty years ago in a brush arbor; and 19 20 Whereas, on Sunday, May 29, 2001, the church celebrates its first 21 official worship service in its new eighteen thousand plus 22 square-foot building; and 23 24 Whereas, Pastor D. E. Greene, Jr., led the congregation in a 25 twenty-four hour prayer and fasting vigil to dedicate the new 26 building to God in gratitude for God’s many blessings on the 27 church and its members; and 28 29 Whereas, the building represents Andrew Chapel Baptist Church’s 30 growing mission in the Orangeburg community and in this State, 31 including a comfortable nursery, closed-circuit television, 32 state-of-the-art audio-visual department, and seating for seven 33 hundred in the congregation and eighty in the choir; and 34 35 Whereas, additional plans for the thirty-three acre tract on 36 Highway 301 North (Five Chop Road) include classrooms for 37 Sunday School and Andrew Chapel Christian Academy and a 38 fellowship hall. Now, therefore, 39 40 Be it resolved that the members of the House of Representatives 41 do hereby join the congregation of Andrew Chapel Baptist Church 42 in Orangeburg and Pastor D. E.
