You fire a slingshot horizontally (duh) at an apple on the ground 10 m away. If you are firing from 1.5 m above the ground, how fast must you shoot to hit the apple? 4. A flea jumps off a desk into a tin cup on the floor. The flea jumped at 1.00 m/s into the cup which was 0.82 m away from the desk. How high was the desk?</p><p>5. A dog chases a cat across a 1.0 m high table. The cat steps out of the way, and the dog slides off the table and strikes (wham!) the floor 2.2 m from the edge of the table. What was the dog’s speed when it slid off the table?</p><p>6. An Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle flying along a horizontal path drops a MK-83 500 lb. bomb from a height of 140.4 m. The bomb travels 500.0 m horizontally before it hits a mutant chipmunk, shredding the beastie into nothingness before it can cause any more damage. What is the F-15E’s initial speed?</p>
