A ball rolls off a cliff at a velocity of 1.0 x101 m/s. If the cliff is 1.00 x101 m high, how far from the base of the cliff will the ball land?

2. A cannon mounted 2.0 m off the ground fires a shell horizontally. If the shell is traveling 300 m/s, what is the cannon’s firing range?

3. You fire a slingshot horizontally (duh) at an apple on the ground 10 m away. If you are firing from 1.5 m above the ground, how fast must you shoot to hit the apple? 4. A flea jumps off a desk into a tin cup on the floor. The flea jumped at 1.00 m/s into the cup which was 0.82 m away from the desk. How high was the desk?

5. A dog chases a cat across a 1.0 m high table. The cat steps out of the way, and the dog slides off the table and strikes (wham!) the floor 2.2 m from the edge of the table. What was the dog’s speed when it slid off the table?

6. An Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle flying along a horizontal path drops a MK-83 500 lb. bomb from a height of 140.4 m. The bomb travels 500.0 m horizontally before it hits a mutant chipmunk, shredding the beastie into nothingness before it can cause any more damage. What is the F-15E’s initial speed?
