<p>AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN Anne Arundel County (Maryland) Branch</p><p>Date: February 2015 To: AACC From: Transfer Scholarship Award Chairman, AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN, RE: Scholarships for AACC students transferring to a four-year school</p><p>The Anne Arundel County Branch of the American Association of University women, recognizing the need for practical support and encouragement for Anne Arundel County women pursuing higher education goals, is offering a financial award for one year to female student(s) who have attended Anne Arundel Community College and are transferring to or continuing at an accredited four- year institution of higher learning. The recipients shall be applicants who, in the opinion of the Transfer Scholarship Award Committee, demonstrate academic excellence and professionalism and are in need of financial assistance.</p><p>This year we will give one award, in an amount up to $1200.00. The award will to be paid directly to the four year institution in two payments, fall and spring, during the 2015-2016 academic year.</p><p>Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for this award: 1. Be a current or former female student of AACC pursing a Bachelor's degree and eligible for junior standing or higher by Fall 2015 at an accredited college or university; 2. Be a resident of Anne Arundel County; 3. Have a grade point average of 3.00 or higher; 4. Show evidence of financial need; 5. Show evidence of professionalism via extra curricular activities (employment or volunteer)</p><p>An interested candidate is asked to: 1. Fill out the attached application, 2. Attach a copy of her transcript from AACC and any other post high school institution she may have attended, 3. Be available for an interview by the Transfer Scholarship Committee in April 2015. 4. Attach a one page essay outlining educational and career goals. Include any present activities that have helped you make these choices.
