<p>RAILWAY</p><p>MINIATURE MUDGEE</p><p>MUDGEE MINIATURE RAILWAY CO – OPERATIVE SOCIETY The Mudgee Miniature Railway is a non-profit Co-operative formed in 1986 by a group of railway enthusiasts and model engineers to promote & encourage the hobby of Model Engineering. Members are shareholders of the Co-operative and have built and operate a passenger hauling miniature railway located at the corner of the Ulan / Cassilis Road & Buckaroo Road, approx 6 kms North of Mudgee ( 1 km past Mudgee Airport ). The society caters for 3 ½” & 5” gauge steam, petrol & electric locomotives on our 518.5 metre ( 1700 foot ) track which is open to the public on the 2nd Sunday of each month. We are open from 10 am to 2 pm ( weather permitting ). The club also caters for miniature steam road vehicles, stationary steam engine models & other model engineering interests. As a non-profit society, all money collected from fares etc goes back into the club for maintenance and improvements. Membership of the Mudgee Miniature Railway is open to everyone - young, old, male or female, and should you wish to join us, then please contact us either at the club or via the phone number or address listed. MODEL ENGINEERING</p><p>Model engineering is the name given to the various interests covering -- miniature railways ( steam, petrol, diesel & electric powered ), steam rollers, steam trucks, traction engines ( steam road vehicles ), models of stationary steam engines, portable steam engines, model internal combustion engines, hot air engines, model boats, models of industrial tools, models of horse drawn wagons and clock making. For further information about ‘Model Engineering’ there are several magazines available through most newsagents. 2 of these are - AUSTRALIAN MODEL ENGINEERING (Australian) bi-monthly. - MODEL ENGINEER (English) fortnightly.
