<p>Fire Safety:</p><p>1. Fire Safety Drills must be at least two weeks apart. 2. Fire Safety Drills must occur at varying times during the school day. 3. At least 2 drills (one before 12/1 and one after 12/1) must be conducted without prior notification to the staff. 4. The second drill of the school year must occur when the majority of students are not in class (lunch, recess, passing time). 5. Concerns regarding any drill must be shared with the staff within one school day. Significant concerns should be forwarded to the Superintendent.</p><p>Tornado Safety:</p><p>1. Tornado drills must be conducted at varying times during the school day. 2. Concerns regarding any drill must be shared with the staff within one school day. Significant concerns should be forwarded to the Superintendent.</p><p>Lockdown Safety</p><p>1. Drill #1 must occur before 12/1 and should be appropriate to an emergency such as the release of hazardous material or the presence of a potentially dangerous person near the premises. Instruction continues. SECURE MODE. 2. Drill #2 must occur before 12/1 and should be appropriate to an emergency such as a potentially dangerous individual on the premises. Students are sheltered in place. LOCKDOWN MODE. 3. Drill #3 must occur after 12/1 and should be appropriate to an emergency such as a potentially dangerous individual on the premises. Students are sheltered in place. LOCKDOWN MODE. 4. Drills should occur during varying times of the school day. 5. Concerns regarding any drill must be shared with the staff within one school day. Significant concerns should be forwarded to the Superintendent.</p><p>Rapid Response Team Drill</p><p>This drill must be completed by May 1. </p><p>A COPY OF THE SOUTHGATE SAFETY DRILL REPORTING FORM MUST BE FORWARDED TO THE SUPERINTENDENT WITHIN 2 SCHOOL DAYS FOR EACH DRILL. This information is required to be posted on the district website within 5 days of completing the drill and must remain for 3 years. A COPY OF THE SOUTHGATE FIRE DEPARTMENT SCHOOL EMERGENCY DRILLS DOCUMENATION FORM MUST BE FAXED OR EMAILED TO mailto:[email protected] WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE DRILL.</p><p>ALL DRILLS MUST BE COMPLETED NO LATER THAN JUNE 1.</p>
