<p> Stonewall IT Intern</p><p>Background Information Stonewall was founded in 1989 by people whose aim was to create a highly professional lobbying organisation to put the case for equality on the mainstream political agenda. The organisation has become widely recognised for its work in transforming the legislative landscape for Britain’s 3.7m lesbian, gay and bisexual people including securing equal marriage in 2013. Our strategy is now to work to ensure equality in every part of the lived experience of gay people at home, at school and at work. </p><p>We work with a comprehensive range of stakeholders and are one of the most effective campaigning charities in Great Britain. Stonewall is at a crucial stage. The challenges that we face are complex as we attempt to ensure that every single lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans person achieves full equality. We have an ambition to reach further into our communities, sharing our knowledge, interventions and campaigns with the widest possible audience. </p><p>The role The IT team at Stonewall provides technology infrastructure the organisation needs today and tomorrow. We are looking for an intern to maintain the performance of our systems and to support staff with their individual IT requests. In turn this will provide the successful applicant with hands-on experience and exposure to a wealth of systems and software at a time of transformation in IT and invaluable diagnostic knowledge to troubleshoot a variety of calls. We are looking for a dedicated, hard-working and committed individual who has a strong interest in learning more about IT and developing their skills and career further. </p><p>Key responsibilities  To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and across a range of software applications.  To assist all our users with any logged IT related incident when called upon.  To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service as soon as possible; escalating incidents where necessary.  To accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.  To install and configure new IT equipment.  To resolve incidents and upgrade different types of software and hardware  To resolve incidents with printers, copiers and scanners  To resolve telephony issues and assist with mobile phone set up </p><p>General responsibilities and duties  Conduct responsibilities in accordance with the operational policies of Stonewall, including but not limited to the diversity policy and code of conduct.  Maintain good working relations with trustees, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders.  Contribute to the general administration, well running and development of the organisation.  Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required within the scope of the role.  Attendance at external events, to provide technical support if required.</p><p>Person Specification</p><p>Experience Essential  Educated to A Level (or equivalent) standard obtaining A-C in Computer Sciences.  Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people  Confident self-starter who can manage their own work and priorities  Excellent customer service skills and enthusiastic approach to work  Interested in mobile and technology industries  Committed to the aims of Stonewall</p><p>Desirable  Experience of providing desktop support  Educated to degree level, preferably in a computer science, but not exclusively.  Any knowledge of SQL, Active Directory or Hyper-V advantageous</p><p>Systems currently used:</p><p> Microsoft Hyper V Manager  Windows 7/8/10  Windows SQL 2008/2012  Windows Server 2008 / 2012  Windows WSUS  Exchange 2010/Office 365  Microsoft Office 2010/2016  Windows Terminal Servers  Draytek/Watchguard Firewalls</p><p>This position is for 6 months and the salary will be £17108 pro rata, the London Living Wage.</p><p>If you’re interested, please apply by noon on Friday 8 April.
