<p> Skit of a local newscast</p><p>Objectives: To write and present a newscast in the target language.</p><p>Writing and reading skills: proper sentence formation including verb conjugation, negation, verb order, proper use of prepositions and interrogatives. Students will peer edit and critique work.</p><p>Oral skills: Students will speak fluently with minimal hesitation of rehearsed material.(Students do not have to memorize material; however, the reading can not be a distraction.)</p><p>Listening skills: In order to engage the audience, students watching the skits are required to answer recorded questions about specifics of each skit.</p><p>Organization: Each skit will be approximately 15 minutes in duration. 4 groups of 8 Within each group, students will pair up to work on one section of a newscast. </p><p>The 4 components of the skit are: 1.local news 2.weather forcast 3.interview of a celebrity (best use for interrogatives) 4.home viewers watching and reacting to the newscast. (good use of negation and activites) </p><p>Other requirements: 2 commercials (groups must incorporate 2 commercial created by the entire group) 1 “out in the field” report</p><p>Vocabulary: activities days of the week seasons(each group will be assigned a season for the skit) months of the year weather vocabulary interrogative adjectives adverbs demonstrative adjectives accepting and turning down invitations Using negations in a sentence</p><p>Recycled material: time numbers city vocabulary activities</p>
