<p> Public Works Director – Norris, Tennessee</p><p>The City of Norris has an opening for a Public Works Director. The Public Works Director works under the general guidance of the City Manager. Position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all City buildings, playgrounds, Right of Ways, roads, and other Municipal assets. Supervises three full time employees, as well as part-time and seasonal employees on an as needed basis. This is a “hands-on” position and candidates must be able to pass a pre- employment physical and drug screen.</p><p>Qualifications: College degree is preferred, but candidates with comparable municipal public works experience will be strongly considered. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be computer proficient and preference may be given to candidates with experience in Building Code administration and/or Inspection.</p><p>Candidates must be able to obtain State of Tennessee Building Inspector certifications in Residential, Plumbing, and Mechanical Inspections within 24 months of hire date as a condition of continued employment.</p><p>Salary is dependant on qualifications.
