<p>Topic 1 Send-in task – Unit 3</p><p>Writing a scientific report – Junket experiment</p><p>Investigating biology</p><p>The most important component of a scientific report is the discussion. In this task you will write some sections of a scientific report (title, hypothesis, results and discussion). </p><p>Part A Planning your discussion</p><p>It is a good idea to plan what you are going to say in your discussion before you write it. Plan your discussion by answering the following questions about the investigation you conducted in Lesson 6. </p><p>Discussion planning questions</p><p>1. What are the main findings from your study?</p><p>2. What evidence from your results supports your findings?</p><p>3. Is your hypothesis supported or refuted?</p><p>4. What are some possible explanations about why you got those results?</p><p>5. What are the implications of your findings?</p><p>6. What were the problems and limitations of your experimental method? Remember, if there were problems that you could improve by redoing the experiment, then you are expected to redo the experiment!</p><p>7. Do you have any ideas about how the experiment could be improved?</p><p>8.
