<p> Act of Worship “Our World” Early Years</p><p>Focal Point: Globe/map of the World Gathering Some examples from Cafod’s global A-Z pack Together CAFOD –Picture of Azmera Candle Bible (open at Genesis 1) Any work done by the children on “Our World”.</p><p>Leader: (If there is enough space arrange the group in a circle around a map/picture of the world or globe). As we gather together, close your eyes put out your hands to the side and find someone else’s hand on your right and left. As we create a circle around our world think of how wonderful and special it is.</p><p>Now we can say “Good morning” to each other and join in our first song. (“He’s got the whole world in his hands” or another appropriate song)</p><p>Think quietly about some of the ways we praise God for our wonderful World</p><p>On a template of a hand, write or draw your thoughts and place around the map of the world / globe. (Helping hands of praise)</p><p>Leader: As we are doing this we listen to some music (Louis Armstrong ‘What a wonderful World!’)</p><p>The Word Now we are going to listen to some words from the Bible which tell us a of God little about God’s creation. (supplement with God’s Story 1 p.6-7) </p><p>Leader: A reading from the book of Genesis (1: 24-26)</p><p>All: Glory to you, Lord.</p><p>God said, “Let the earth produce living animals according to their kind: cattle, creatures that move along the ground, wild animals according to their kind”. So it was. God created the wild animals according to their kind, and everything that creeps along the ground according to its kind. God saw that it was good.</p><p>Leader: The word of the Lord.</p><p>All: Thanks be to God</p><p>Response to We thank God for our Wonderful World.! Think of all the things you the Word would like to thank God for. Also, we remember those who are not as fortunate as us, we close our eyes for a moment and think.</p><p>Litany: Invite the children to pray for our world. Remind the children that we are very lucky to have all the things we do. We also rememeber those who are not as lucky. Reader: We thank God for our wonderful world Lord hear us… All: Lord, graciously hear us.</p><p>Reader: We pray for those who need water Lord hear us… All: Lord, graciously hear us.</p><p>Reader: We give thanks for the work of Cafod Lord hear us… All: Lord, graciously hear us.</p><p>Reader: We pray that each one of us looks after our world Lord hear us… All: Lord, graciously hear us.</p><p>Reader: We give thanks for all the animals… Lord hear us… All: Lord, graciously hear us.</p><p>Going Leader: Lord God, help each one of us care for our world.
