The specifications for achieving this unit of competency are provided in the BCG03 General Construction Training Package. As a summary you will need to provide evidence by way of written/oral test, assignments and performance in practical class exercises. Supplementary evidence may be called from your employer and/or work placement provider/host if you choose to gain recognition of prior learning (RPL). </p><p>The actual details of assessment events and the timing of these events will be provided by your teacher after you have negotiated what evidence is appropriate in your particular circumstance to fully meet the specifications of the training package. </p><p>You are required to supply and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow the relevant Work Method Statements during the practical components of this unit of competency.</p><p>It is important to remember that the laws protecting the Health and Safety of people at work apply to students who attend TAFE Colleges, either part time or full time. These laws emphasise the need to take reasonable steps to eliminate or control risk at work (this includes a TAFE College/Campus). TAFE NSW has the responsibility for the control, and where possible, the elimination of health and safety risk at the college/campus. You are encouraged to help in eliminating hazards by reporting to your teacher or other college/campus staff, anything that you think may be a risk to you or other people.</p><p>Your teacher will encourage you to assist in hazard identification and elimination, and to devise control measures for any risks to yourself and other people that may arise during practical exercises.
