A RESOLUTION Adjourning the Senate in Loving Memory and Honor of Joseph King Discher

<p>UNOFFICIAL COPY AS OF 5/8/2018 1998 REG. SESS. 98 RS BR 2741</p><p>A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Joseph King Discher. With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Joseph King Discher and we pause in silent reverence for his soul. WHEREAS, Joseph King Discher was born on December 4, 1931, a native of Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on March 8, 1998; and WHEREAS, Joseph King Discher was the adored son of the late Louis Discher and Evelyn King Discher; and he was the loving brother of two sisters, Martha Discher and Mary D. Kelly; and WHEREAS, Joseph King Discher served his country with distinction in the United States Army during the Korean War; and WHEREAS, at the time of his passing, Joseph King Discher was a resident of Orlando, Florida, and was an avid boatsman who enjoyed navigating his sailboat "Captain's License"; he was a member of St. Xavier Alumni Association; he was co- founder of Paul Sawyer Galleries in Frankfort; he was a former Kentucky Transportation Director of Real Property; he was a former Franklin County Civil Defense Director; he operated the J. J. King Farm; he was a former Director of the State National Bank; and he was a friend and co-partner of Senator Fred Bradley in Frankfort's first pizza restaurant; and WHEREAS, the passing of Joseph King Discher has left a void that will be difficult to fill and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:</p><p>Page 1 of 2 BR274100.100-2741 UNOFFICIAL COPY AS OF 5/8/2018 1998 REG. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Joseph King Discher, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy. Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Joseph King Discher. Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Sister Martha Discher, 2048 Douglass Boulevard, Louisville, Kentucky 40205.</p><p>Page 2 of 2 BR274100.100-2741</p>
