<p> 07.15.2014 NE HUB TELECONFERENCE NOTES NE REGIONAL HUB TEAM TELECONFERENCE July 15, 2014</p><p>Present: Lisa Holscher, IASWCD / CCSI Mike Werling, CCSI Farmer</p><p>Notes by: Lisa Holscher </p><p> Adams Co GLC Grant  Was earmarked for the Amish community, but hard to get them involved unless you can prove that any money used comes from taxes they pay.  Original Intent was for pasture re-hab, but difficulties in getting Amish to accept / buy-in (Amish vs “English”) . Suggested talking to Kevin Allison, Daviess SWCD b/c of his involvement with the local Amish community  GLC grant funds might be used to purchase a strip-till rig, fertilizer cart, roller-crimper or multi- species cover crop applicator for rental . Suggested talking to AJ Adkins, NTM Equipment about “low power” planters . Suggested talking to Michael ODonnel, Delaware Co Extension about roller crimpers</p><p> August 22nd Field Day – Muncie  Make sure we can pull up Midwest Cover Crop Council Selector Guide for Mike to use.</p><p> Werling Field Day  IvyTech Ft Wayne has brought back soils, ag, nutrient cycling, erosion control into courses  IVYTech would be interested in hosting a few meetings. IUPUI Ft Wayne might also be interested.  Werling would like to invite Ray Weil to speak. Could look at multiple events locally and across the State. Locally, would look at 3 days / 3 events: . Students . Farmers / Ag . Urban</p>
