<p> Sustainability Advisory Committee Thursday, December 8, 2016 11:10 to 12:00 Meeting Minutes</p><p>SAC Committee Members: Dennis Elliot (chair), Michael Lucas, Patrick Lemieux, Gary Clay, Haley Stegall, Kyle Boland, Hunter Francis, Ron Skamfer, Scott Bloom Ex Officio: Julie Hawkins, Steve Polvi Guests (invited): Eric Veium (recorder), Kylee Singh, Claire Balint, Megan Coats, Ron Hostick, Scott Loosley, Greg Yeo, Molly Barker, Cheryl Andrus, Mark Sine, Shelby Thomas, Naba Ahmed</p><p>Attendance: Dennis Elliot, Ron Skamfer, Scott Bloom, Eric Veium, Kylee Singh, Molly Barker</p><p>Approval of Minutes – Minutes from the November meeting were approved</p><p>Charrette Followup</p><p> Dennis met with the President’s Executive Cabinet Nov 7 List of “Asks for support/resources” o Financial support for Clean Tech Prize $10k - approved o Financial support for CTLT workshops for integrating sustainability into curriculum - approved o Sustainable Transportation Planner in Facilities Planning to support development and implementation of a Sustainable Transportation Plan, or release time for meaningful involvement of a faculty member (likely Billy Riggs) in the new campus Parking and Transportation Committee under formation – supportive of release time in concept, pending startup of committee, and ability of faculty appointee to contribute under current teaching/committee service load o Campus as a Living Lab Project Manager in Facilities – not approved o Faculty cluster hires – supportive in concept, needs development by colleges o Discussed value of an Office of Sustainability – Provost feels we are fulfilling this role well out of Facilities and cannot yet fund another new office at this time Solar Farm Update -- Dennis Cal Poly received 7 proposals, short listed 5 o 4 qualified bids – REC solar offered highest savings followed by Sun Power, NRG, and Borrego – approx. $18M in net present value savings over 20 years o Working to validate proposal and award notice of intent to enter negotiations Potential reactivation of the Renewable Energy Institute o Use solar farm to showcase Renewable Energy initiatives on campus.</p><p> o Group meeting to flesh out design of academic component Sustainability in Auxiliaries -- Dennis Dennis and Eric will be working over the next year as part of Energy Information System phase I deployment to provide meaningful data to auxiliaries to track each organization’s progress toward CSU Policy and Cal Poly climate neutrality goals.
