<p> Confederation of Student Services Ireland DRAFT Plan of Action 2011-2013</p><p>Aims:</p><p> To promote and improve student development and support services for students entering and participating in all third level institutions; </p><p> To facilitate communication and exchange of ideas and research between individuals and associations concerned with student services in third level education, nationally and internationally; </p><p> To seek changes in national policy where such changes are seen to be congruent with the best interests of students. </p><p>Action 1: To increase the profile of CSSI via a limited number of press releases and commenting on topical issues impacting on students and student services. (Vivian Rath, Bob O Murchu, Vincent Mc Carthy and Ronan Murphy)</p><p>Action 2: To increase membership by targeting unrepresented colleges. (Orlaith Tunney, Linda Barry, Ronan Murphy, Clodagh Byrne, Estella Dorrian)</p><p>Action 3: Conferences, Professional Days and Seminars</p><p> To hold a Professional Development Day in January 2012, with around 30 people attending and high satisfaction ratings. (Venue – DCU, Rachael Breslin, Bob Ó Murchú and Ronan Murphy)</p><p> To hold a well-attended, useful CSSI Summer Seminar in June 2012 with an attendance of around 60 and high satisfaction ratings. (Venue: UCC; Con O’Brien, Lorraine Tansey, Michael Wall, Anne Marie Quigley and Scott Aherne) To hold a Professional Development Day in January 2013, with around 30 people attending and high satisfaction ratings. (Action to be allocated)</p><p> To hold a well-attended, useful CSSI Conference in June 2013 with an attendance of around 150 and high satisfaction ratings. (Action to be allocated)</p><p>Action 4: To continue to develop links with our colleagues in other countries in order to provide with professional development opportunities for our members. (Brian Gormley, Colleen Blaney Doyle and Louise Kelly)</p><p>- Continue to support and develop the NASPA / CSSI exchange.</p><p>Action 5: To provide opportunities and fora for the dissemination of research into student affairs issues. (Noreen Deedy, Matt Doran, Una McDermott, Michael Goldrick – Bursary from CSSI to pick a student to undertake a project?)</p><p>Action 6: To provide useful information and opportunities for networking via a vibrant website and social networking. (Bob Ó Murchú, Vivian Rath and Scott Aherne)</p><p>Action 7: To ensure all executive members are given opportunities for development and involvement (BG)</p><p>Action 8: To do the above within the financial constraints of the CSSI budget.
