<p> Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum</p><p>Long Term Archaeological Archive Storage Costs</p><p>1. Archaeological Objects</p><p>1.1 Costs of storage for finds of all categories are based on that calculated £17.25 by English Heritage i.e. per standard box (0.017m3).</p><p>1.2 An equivalent is the Salisbury cardboard “standard box” (W 28cm x L 46cm x D 20cm). Costs for storage of other sizes of box can be estimated pro rata.</p><p>2. The Rest of the Archive</p><p>2.1 Paper records, drawings, plans.</p><p>A4 sheets stored in blue/grey acid-free boxcard clamshell boxes £8.90 per box (Small: W 27cm x L 40cm x D 5cm; Large: W 27cm x L 40cm x D 8cm) All drawings/plans £1.20 each</p><p>2.2 Electronic data. If a report is submitted as a CD, a paper copy must also be submitted. 2 copies of any CD must be submitted. </p><p>Cost per CD £21.00 each</p><p>2.3 Photographic Archive</p><p>Photographic prints will be received in archivally sound polyester sleeves (Secol or equivalent) in acid-free cardboard boxes. Cost as £8.90 per box above per box.</p><p>Or they will be in archivally sound pocketed hanging files (Secol or equivalent) with suspension bars, for storage in metal filing cabinet drawers.</p><p>Cost per hanging file is £1.50 If received loose the cost per print is £0.40 each</p><p>Colour transparencies, black and white negative strips and contact prints or sheets will be received in archivally sound hanging files with suspension bars. If they are too few in number for this (i.e. less than 10 transparencies or less that three negative or contact print strips per site) they will be received loose, but a pro rata charge will be made.</p><p>Cost per hanging file of: transparencies £1.85 strips £1.50</p><p>Cost of mounted colour transparencies (if loose) £11.80 per 100 35mm black and white negative strips (if loose) £1.75 per 3 strips 35mm black and white contact print sheet £1.75 per sheet</p><p>3. Data Entry</p><p>Entry onto Collections Database</p><p>For itemised small finds (per item) £0.75 As above, plus scanning image (per item) £1.50</p><p>These prices are subject to annual review.
