<p> FLOOR WARDEN DUTIES</p><p>Act decisively during an emergency:  Put on bump hat and vest and issue instructions.  Lead floor occupants out of the building to assembly area.  Knock on bathrooms on the way out and announce the emergency.  Close doors on the way out.  Note any pertinent observations on the way out of the building (smoke, people not leaving, etc.)  Report the Building Coordinator.</p><p>Know the emergency evacuation routes and location of exits for the building.</p><p>Identify any disabled personnel and work out a plan for their evacuation.</p><p>Know the location of fire extinguishers and how the alarm system works.</p><p>Report problems to EH&S or the Service Desk if exit signs or emergency lights do not work.</p><p>Report problems to EH&S or Service Desk if exits or hallways are not clear of equipment, boxes or furniture.</p><p>Be available to personnel on floor to explain evacuation plan and emergency procedures.</p><p>Participate with other floor wardens and Building Coordinator in preparing, scheduling, and conducting evacuation exercises.</p><p>Take advantage of training opportunities such as PERT, First Aid, and Fire Safety.</p>
