
<p>Type of Meeting: Business Meeting</p><p>Date: September 23, 2014</p><p>Place: High School Cafeteria</p><p>Members Present: President, William Peoples, Jr., Trustees Brian Crane, Michael Knapp, and Brian Herrington</p><p>Members Excused: Trustees Michelle Terwilliger, Amanda Stuart and Mary Beth Grace</p><p>Others: District Clerk Mary Berkan, Elementary Principal Deborah Flint, Middle-High School Principal Jennifer Crane, Special Education Supervisor Tanya Loomis, and Business Administrator Ken Forrester.</p><p>Guests: Jessica Painter, Rollie Coleman, Robin Kerwan</p><p>President Peoples called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and led the group To Order in the Pledge of Allegiance after explaining the emergency procedure. </p><p>A motion was made by Trustee Crane and seconded by Trustee Knapp to Amended approve the agenda. President Peoples asked the agenda to be amended to remove Agenda item # 11.6, Student Council Trip request. Motion was then approved as amended. Approved</p><p>Middle-High School Principal, Ms. Crane was then asked to proceed with Recognitions the recognitions. She first explained that these students went above and beyond by participating in enrichment programing by an advanced academics online course. The student recognitions were as follows: Ethan Howe for Middle School French; Samantha Hand Introduction to Psychology; Haley Stuart, Introduction to Psychology; Sarah Vonderchek, Pre-calculus; Alyson Windnagle, Journalism. Ms. Crane then recognized Art teacher Michelle Buchanan for her creation of an art journal that highlights student art work. (which she provided an example) President Peoples presented each person with a Certificate of Recognition.</p><p>No one wish to be recognized during the Public Forum. Public Forum</p><p>Mr. Forrester then introduced Mr. Rollie Coleman from Cannon Design, who Discussion – explained that the reason for his attendance was to further review with the Board Cannon the compensation request for additional services and the justification. He noted we Design had asked for work above and beyond our initial budget and final bidding was higher due to the backlog in the review process at SED to allow for bidding to begin. With the final tabulation Cannon Design fee requested is $85,365.</p><p>After a couple questions, concerns from the Board, President Peoples stated that Mr. Coleman would be hearing from the District regarding the Cannon Design request. BOCES Bid Motion carried.</p><p>Motion by Trustee Herrington, seconded by Trustee Knapp. The Board of Approval of Education of the Addison Central School District, upon the recommendation of the Lead Evaluator Superintendent of Schools, does approve the administrators as Lead Evaluators and re- Training & Re- certification to conduct evaluations under the APPR Plan for 2014-2015, in accordance Certification with the rules and regulations of the Board. Motion carried.</p><p>Motion by Trustee Crane, seconded by Trustee Knapp. The Board of Education of Approval of the Addison Central School District, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Senior Class Schools, does approve the Senior Class trip request to Baltimore, Trip Maryland June 12, 2015 in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Board.
