<p> Texas History Major Project</p><p>Choose one of the following activities to demonstrate your knowledge of the significant events and/or people involved in the Texas Revolution</p><p> o Battle Scene Illustration: Draw a picture of a battle scene from one of the Texas Revolutionary Battles. Include a paragraph describing the details of the battle (what battle is it, date, location, leaders of both armies involved in the battle, major historical figures involved in the battle, results of the battle, etc.) and explaining the significance of the battle as it relates to the Texas Revolution. </p><p>Google “Dawn at the Alamo” and “The Battle of San Jacinto” by Henry McArdle for examples of battle scene illustrations.</p><p> o Tombstone: Create a tombstone for a significant Texas Revolutionary figure. Include the persons full name, date of birth and death, how they died (ex. died from pneumonia, died heroically in battle, etc.), where they died, and a slogan or phrase on the tombstone that would relate to the person (ex. “Remember the Alamo” for someone who died at the battle of the Alamo.) Include a short obituary paragraph that details the significance of the deceased’s life as it relates to the Texas Revolution.</p><p> o Historical Portrait: Choose a significant figure from the Texas Revolution and draw a portrait of them that would be historically accurate (they are dressed in the style of clothes they would have worn, the background is of a place they were actually at, any tools or weapons in the portrait are accurate to the type the person would have used.) Include a mini-bio paragraph that details the significance of the person’s life as it relates to the Texas Revolution. o Battle Map: Create a battle map depicting the battles and skirmishes of the Texas Revolution. Be sure to include a title, map key, symbols to represent Texas victories and losses, a compass rose, and be sure to label the battles at the dates on which they occurred. </p><p> o The following battles should be included on the map.</p><p>. Battle of Gonzales</p><p>. Battle of Goliad</p><p>. Battle of Concepción/Siege of San Antonio</p><p>. Siege of the Alamo</p><p>. Battle of San Patricio</p><p>. Battle of Refugio</p><p>.
