<p> Summary of Animal Control Rules for Rock Bridge 1. All dogs not properly tagged, collared and licensed are declared a public nuisance in accordance with State statute. 2. It shall be a violation of the Town Ordinance for any person in the Town of Zionsville to own or harbor a dog who is not properly tagged, collared and licensed. 3. No dogs shall be allowed outside their owner's premises unless under the reasonable control of some person. 4. Violation of #3 can result in a fine by the Town and forced removal of animal by the HOA Board of Directors. 5. A pet can also be removed upon a written request of twenty five percent(%) of the voting power of the association.</p><p>Town of Zionsville</p><p>CODE OF ORDINANCES </p><p>ARTICLE V - ANIMAL CONTROL</p><p>Sec. 9-40 Dogs to be Properly Tagged, Collared and Licensed In accordance with State statute all dogs within the Town of Zionsville over six months of age must be tagged, collared and licensed pursuant to current Boone County and Eagle Township regulations. All dogs not properly tagged, collared and licensed are declared a public nuisance in accordance with State statute. Further, it shall be a violation of this Ordinance for any person in the Town of Zionsville to own or harbor a dog who is not properly tagged, collared and licensed. A violation of this Ordinance shall subject the dog's owner to liability for a citation and fine of $25.00. (Formerly Ord. 77-2 as amended by Ord. 95-03) Sec. 9-41 Loose Dogs No dogs shall be allowed outside their owner's premises unless under the reasonable control of some person. A violation of this section shall subject the owner of the animal to liability for a citation and fine of $25.00 for each violation up to and including tree violations within a calendar year. Any dog owner being cited for more than three violations of this Section in any one calendar year shall be liable for a fine of up to $75.00 for any additional violations during that calendar year. (Ord. 95-03) For purposes of this provision, solely as it relates to sidewalks, pathways, roads and any other public way, ‘reasonable control’ is defined to mean that the animal is restrained by a secure collar and a leash not in excess of 6’ (six feet) in length and the owner of the animal or such other person exercising control of the animal is connected to or holding the other end of the leash.
