Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF CAPE COD

Adult supervised after school activities keep kids safe, build confidence, help them do better in school, and even lower juvenile crime rates. We know this and research has proven it beyond all doubt, but how do most parents, especially on Cape Cod, where many work two jobs to provide basic necessities find adult supervised care for their kids in the critical hours after school?

Where do they turn when they can’t be home themselves to supervise their children? Some of them turn to family, some to costly fees for babysitters or daycare, but more and more of them turn to the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod because they know that their kids will find:  A trained professional adult staff to serve as positive role models.  Academic programs to encourage learning, including a new homework and tutoring program that will coordinate academic progress and tutoring with home and school and emphasize the connections between learning and work.  A full gym with active sports leagues and open gym time, including basketball, soccer, baseball, kickball, and volleyball.  Arts & Crafts and Drama programs.  Computers with high-speed Internet connection.  Games, including pool, foosball, air hockey, and ping pong  Camp Algonquin, an affordable Summer Day Camp.  Programs that develop character, community service, and leadership skills.  Special teen activities, including supervised dances and “ teen only” times from 7-9 on Wednesday nights and 7-10 on Friday nights.  Annual fees of only $15 for the entire school year

Just as importantly, they know that Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod has a Board of Directors that work year round to raise the money to keep the club open and affordable for all children, no matter what their family circumstances. Because the Cape Cod community cares, and responds with generous support, the Club is able to provide proven programs for our local kids to help them grow into successful citizens

Our parents and kids also know that the Summer Day Camp at the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod is one of the best around, runs for nine weeks in the summer from 8:30 AM until 5:15 PM with no additional fees, is based on traditional camp fun and lots of field and beach trips, and has an affordable tuition of $115 a week with lots of scholarship money for families that can document need.

Who can come to the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod? Any child from any town who is between the ages of 6 and 18. All they need to do is have a parent or guardian fill out a membership form or summer camp registration and bring it into the Club. Summer Camp Registration begins March 6 and continues until the Camp fills up. Parents are urged to register early.

How can you help? Support the Club by coming to the Annual Golf Tournament and, if you don’t play golf, skip that and just come to the Dinner and Auction at the New Seabury Country Club on August 9th. Stop in and visit to see the Club , send a check, fund a scholarship for a needy child, respond to our annual appeal, volunteer to come in and teach a skill or just sit and play a quiet game of scrabble or chess with a child. Our children and our community benefit from your involvement, so become a Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod supporter!
