<p>March/April Classes</p><p>Overlocking Class; Lorraine Come along and learn how to get the best out of your Overlocker. Find out about the needles, threads and tensions that relate to your particular machine. Learn how to do 3 & 4 thread overlocking, rolled hems, gathering, attach elastic & lace plus lots more. Your class cost includes a tutoring fee, a manual that you record tensions and settings that relate to your Overlocker for future reference plus a fabric kit. This is a 2-day class. Feel free to use one of our Overlockers if you are considering purchasing one. Class Date: Saturday, April 9th & 16th OR June 18th & 25th Time: 9:30am to 3:00pm Cost: $150.00 – includes tutor fee, fabric kit plus manual.</p><p>Walking Foot Class; Lesley This class is for those who can’t or don’t enjoy free-motion quilting and want to do more than ‘stitch in the ditch’. We will be using a walking foot, Acufeed foot, IDT, or even feed foot depending on the brand of your machine. I will show you how to stitch straight lines accurately, use fancy stitches to give different effects, squares, triangles, circles, swirls, braids as well as other options. This is a 2 day class and I will supply a kit. Class Date: Wednesday, March 2nd & 9th Time: 10:00am to 12:30pm Cost: $25.00 plus Kit $20.00</p><p>Janome Instore Activities; Carol (Janome) Carol from Janome, NZ, will be doing a demo/presentation of the techniques that can be used in Edit Mode on the Janome Embroidery machines. If you wish to bring your machines she will also be doing a hands on demonstration using designs on the machine along with the flexible on- screen editing to create a border for an embroidered coaster. She will also do a demonstration of the AcuFil Quilting system which will be available shortly for the Janome 500E. This technique is built in the Janome 15000 and is available as an optional extra for the Janome 12000. If you have any other queries regarding any Janome machine Carol will be available at the end to answer your questions. Class Date: Thursday, March 3rd Time: 10:00am Cost: Free – Suitable for those with Janome 15000, 12000, 500E & 9900 machines as well as anybody interested in seeing what these clever machines can do.</p><p>Monthly Machine Embroidery Class; Lesley In this class we work on projects such as runners, mats, bags and other gift ideas using a number of different embroidery and sewing techniques. For some projects you may have to purchase designs or you can use your own provided they are suitable for the project we are working on at the time. These classes are open to all brands of machine but you must have a means of loading the designs onto your machine. Class Date: 2nd Tuesday OR 2nd Friday of the month starting 8th or 11th March Time: 10:00am to 1:00pm Cost: $135.00 for year or $20.00 per class Premier Plus Embroidery Software; Angie Spong Do you have an Embroidery machine and would like to edit your designs to suit how you would like or even create your own designs or you may already have 6D software and wish to update it. In this class you will learn how to use piping, how to make false binding along the handles and around the top of the bag, how to put zippered pockets in 2 different ways as well as put a zip closure in the top of the bag. We will also create a pleated phone pocket on the inside of the bag. I have done this bag in 2 different sizes.
