<p>Important Deadlines – 3rd quarter Miss Bowman G8 Global Issues</p><p>Current events article and summary sheet due EVERY Thursday (unless otherwise noted by Miss Bowman)</p><p>Friday, January 27th – Tell Miss Bowman: </p><p>1. Your topic for National History Day</p><p>2. Whether you are working as an individual or with a group</p><p>3. The presentation method you chose (documentary, exhibit, performance)</p><p>Friday, February 3rd – NHD project preview and plan for completion due</p><p> Storyboard/script/first draft/outline for National History Day project due</p><p> In-progress Annotated Bibliography; proof of primary and secondary sources </p><p> In-progress Process Paper </p><p> This will vary depending on your presentation method, but all individuals or groups need an outline with information they plan to use for their project. </p><p> o Documentary – have a storyboard (can be done with Power Point slides)</p><p> o Performance – first draft of a script, plus what topics you plan to add</p><p> o Exhibit – show me a sketch of your exhibit, plus an outline of what you plan to include (additional props, pictures w/captions, special effects, layout of board)</p><p>Week of February 6th – all class work on World of 7 Billion video contest</p><p>Thursday, February 16th – World of 7 Billion video due</p><p>Friday, February 17th & Monday, February 20th – NO SCHOOL</p><p>Wednesday, February 22nd – Annotated bibliography for National History Day due; Mrs. Grapes will proof and return with edits</p><p>Monday, February 27th – Process paper for National History Day due</p><p>Title Page that meets contest requirements The first section should explain how you chose your topic. The second section should explain how you conducted your research. The third section should explain how you selected your presentation category and created your project. The fourth section should explain how your project relates to the NHD theme. Thursday, March 2nd – Final NHD project due (and process paper with title page and annotated bibliography)</p><p> You need 3 copies of your process paper (with title page) and annotated bibliography for the judges, plus copies for yourselves</p><p> Final check to make sure you have met all requirements and stayed within the parameters in the NHD Rule Book</p><p>Saturday, March 4th – Attend regional National History Day competition at Messiah College</p><p> Arrive at Messiah by 8:15am</p><p> Stay through the judging (around 1:00pm)</p><p> Awards ceremony is optional – would be over no later than 4:00pm</p><p>Monday, March 6th </p><p> NHD recap and breakdown</p><p> Classroom discussion topics</p><p> Begin International Night planning </p><p> Discuss 4th quarter projects (OASC)</p><p>Thursday, March 9th – Current events article and summary sheet due</p><p>Friday, March 10th – Weekly News Quiz </p><p>Thursday, March 16th – Current events article and summary sheet due</p><p>Friday, March 17th – Weekly News Quiz</p><p>Thursday, March 23rd – Current events article and summary sheet due</p><p>Friday, March 24th – Weekly News Quiz</p><p>*Potential additions:</p><p> Guest speakers (HW will be to submit questions for the speaker in advance)</p><p> HW related to classroom discussion topics (A Long Walk to Water; He Named Me Malala) Friday, March 24th – End of 3rd quarter Saturday, March 25th – Sunday, April 2nd – Spring Break! Monday, April 3rd – Classes Resume Monday, April 10 – Thursday, April 13 – New Orleans!</p>
