<p> Lessons for Week Ten: Writing and Wrapping Up</p><p>MONDAY: 3-12-07 (Meet in HSSB 1214)  Reading: More sample resumes and cover letters.  Class Activities: Resume and cover letter work. Evaluations.</p><p>I Peer Review of Resumes (40 min) A. Read and evaluate a sample resume. B. Questions: a. Rating 1-10, ten great—one okay. b. What did the author do well.? c. What might he/she have done better? C. Do ten passes. D. What to do with: a. Add up your ratings, average them. How close to ten are you? What could you do to get to ten? b. What can you do to improve? c. What questions do you have about your resume. E. Switch papers and answer questions—time allowing.</p><p>II Cover Letter Introduction and What to Find (30 min)</p><p>A. Give them a sample resume and cover letter for a business: KUSB—a new TV station we’re running. B. What does the writer do well? What experience do we like? Would we hire her and why? C. Make the decision in ten minutes with your group. D. Then go over how to create letters—with overheads. E. Have them use the format to plot out a cover letter for a job or internship. F. You must research where you will apply. c. Take questions. G. Put up Cover letter Guidelines, and have them write for five minutes</p><p>III Citation Work (30 min) A. Put up mistakes. B. Formatting via citation—on overheads. C. Grammar work.</p><p>WEDNESDAY: 3-14-07 (Meet in HSSB 1214)  Reading: None.  Writing: All rewrites due today. Final draft of resume and cover letter. Bring latest version of your paper to class. Also, make sure to bring your research blog or paper to class—or email Chris document or link.  Class Activities: Peer review of rewritings. Work on resume and cover letter. Reminder of when to pick up materials and grades.</p><p>LESSON FOR WEDNESDAY: 3-14-07 (Meet in HSSB 1214)  Reading: None.  Writing: All rewrites due today.
