<p> Awards 2013</p><p>The Deaf Victoria Awards 2013 is an opportunity for Deaf Victoria and the wider community to honour those who have made a significant contribution to the Deaf community. </p><p>Nomination Criteria:  Any Deaf person living in Victoria can be nominated for the “ER Noble Award”, the “Victorian Deaf Youth of the Year,” or the “Victorian Deaf Senior of the Year” awards.  Any organisation in Victoria can be nominated for the “Victorian Organisation of the Year” award.  People nominated for “Victorian Deaf Youth of the Year” must be between 16 and 30 years old.  People nominated for “Victorian Deaf Senior of the Year” must be over 60 years old.  The ER Noble Award is presented to a person who has excelled in providing opportunities and/or options for Deaf people to participate in community activities, to obtain access to general services and enhance community acceptance of deafness  The nomination can only cover achievements that have occurred during 2013.  A person can be nominated for more than one award but a separate nomination form or video presentation for each award category must be given.  Nominations of immediate family (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter) will not be accepted.  Each award is a one-off – i.e. an individual Deaf person can win a category of the Award once only. An individual may be nominated many times but once they have won the Award they cannot be considered again for the Award in any subsequent year.  Nominations must be completed using the attached ‘Nomination Form’ and sent to Deaf Victoria via email or post by COB Friday 2 May 2014 with the subject “Awards Nomination”. It is also possible to give a DVD/video of the nomination. If a camera is needed, you can contact Deaf Victoria, [email protected] to arrange this.  Deaf Victoria will announce the winners of the Deaf Victoria awards at the 2014 AVID and Deaf Community Awards ceremony on Saturday 31 May 2014.  For the category you are nominating in, you must explain clearly why you think the person or organisation you have nominated should win.
