Cake Design: the Decoration Forum a Combination of Spectacular Cakes

<p> Press Release N° 14</p><p>CAKE DESIGN: THE DECORATION FORUM – A COMBINATION OF SPECTACULAR CAKES AND PARADES OF SWEET WEDDING DRESSES</p><p>Rimini, 13th January 2012 – A pleasure to see and taste, spectacle and masterly artisan skills are the ingredients of CAKE DESIGN, the Decoration Forum being held during the SIGEP International Exhibition of Artisan Gelato, Pastry, Confectionery and Bakery production, at Rimini Fiera from 21st to 25th January 2012. At Cake Design (Hall D1), dedicated sections and areas will host demos, contests, workshops and events. This is the pastry world’s great current trend and has opened up extraordinary market prospects.</p><p>Live demos will be able to be followed in the Workshops dedicated to cake decorating, which will concentrate on work with piping, almond paste/marzipan, sugarpaste and icing. The most widespread techniques will be demonstrated live by well-known pastry chefs and cake designers, as an initiative by “Pasticceria Internazionale”, Conpait, Tervi and A Tavola con lo Chef. Guests at the “Professional Demonstrators” session will be: Leonardo Di Carlo, Giuseppe Amato, Valentina Gigli and many others. Not to be missed will be the historical meeting and practical demo by Marco Morandin and performances by the sugar wizard, Stéphane Klein. In the packaging and window-dressing field, the Accademia Con.Ve.It, Accademia del Confezionamento e della Vetrinistica Italiani in Pasticceria, will present an Exhibition and Workshop on Creative Packaging, during which spectacular windows will be conceived and tables set and decorated for weddings of various types will be displayed.</p><p>On Sunday 23rd January, it will be possible to admire a Parade of sweet wedding dresses, organized by Conpait, Italian Pastry Chef Confederation. Each dress on the catwalk will be paired with a wedding cake representing an Italian region. </p><p>Every day it will be possible to take part in the contest La Più Glamour (The Most Glamorous) “Glamour Italian Cakes”: it will be possible to win fantastic prizes for voting the most glamorous cake among the twenty on show, ten of which are the finalists of the 1st professional contest on the wedding theme organized on Facebook and dedicated to pastry chefs and cake designers, whereas the other ten cakes will be presented by Conpait. The finalists of the contest held in the Web are: Tatiana Rendo, Teresa Insero, Giada Farina, Marina Petrini, Claudia Prati, Francesca Manciat, Antonella Di Mari Clara Altomare, Eleonora Coppini and Andrea Massimi. At Cake Design there will also be: Carmela Moffa, Matteo Failla, Katia Fabretti, Roberto Savini, Concettina Furfaro, Daddeo Umberto, Esposito Giuseppe, Valanzuolo Aiello, Labbate Germano, Fabio Ravone, Valter Cimoroni, Bonaiuto Baniamino and Campobello Onofrio.</p><p>The panel of judges is of international level: Kerry Vincent (director, Oklahoma Sugar Art Show and Food Network judge), Pamela Archibald (Australia), Christine Flinn (Great Britain), Leonardo Di Carlo, Valentina Gigli and Biagio Settepani (United States), will nominate those who will be admitted to the final phase. The ten finalists will take their entries to SIGEP 2012, in the special area of the Decoration Forum. </p><p>More than 50 ideas dedicated to gift wrapping will be exhibited in the Sigift event area (Hall D3) where every day visitors will be able to take part in thematic demos dedicated to packaging, wrapping and favours.
