Choose water-based OR regular oils as your paints. Do not mix them up (at present). Bring your photo references to class of the subject you will paint.</p><p>Materials: Sketch pad 9 x 12 min. size or larger sketch pad to take notes and allow me to add sketches and Xerox copies for your reference.</p><p>Paints Water-based Oils by Holbein has a beginner’s set of 12 colors (At Keeton’s) which also includes the water-based linseed oil ***. OR Basic Regular Oils: Titanium White Orange Ultramarine Blue Red Medium Cobalt Blue Alizarin Crimson Yellow Light or Medium Sap Green Raw Umber Virdian Burnt Sienna Yellow Ochre</p><p>Brushes Bristol 1 brush within each range There are 3 types of brushes: Flat, Filbert and Round Buy 2 brushes for each type in a small fine/point ¼” and larger, at least ½” or wider. Base the size where the Bristol hairs meets the metal enclosure. Since each brand sizes differently, that’s why I’m giving you actual measurements. 1 - Large sponge brush 2” or 3” for gessoing canvas</p><p>WATER-based 1 bottle of Linseed Oil for Water-based paints*** see above note under paints</p><p>REGULAR Oils Cold Pressed Linseed Oil, small bottle Odorless Gamsol (NO turpentine), small can</p><p>2 small glass jars with screw top lids (baby food size or small bouillon cube glass containers) </p><p>Palette Knife Triangular shape about 1 1/2” long (with bent handle - not flat) Palette Disposable paper sheets 12” x 16” (No thumb hole in it) Supports 2 - Canvas boards OR stretched canvas suggested sizes 9 x 12 OR 11 x 14 Gesso for priming canvas, small jar for now Rags For painting AND easy clean-up (old T-shirts are great) and NOT just paper towels! Rubber Gloves Table cover Easel You can bring a table easel or use the art center’s easel which you can sit or stand.</p>
