<p>JOB DESCRIPTION: Finance Officer</p><p>Salary: £19,220 - £20,940 pro rata (3 days/week)</p><p>Location: NWWT Head Office, Bangor</p><p>Responsible to: Trust Director</p><p>1. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POST</p><p> With the Trust Director, to ensure that the day-to day financial management of the North Wales Wildlife Trust and its subsidiary companies is carried out in accordance with statutory regulations and good accounting practice. </p><p>2. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES</p><p> Assisting the Trust Director and Treasurer in managing the finances of the North Wales Wildlife Trust and its subsidiary companies with a view to maintaining financial integrity and compliance with financial, legal and statutory requirements.</p><p> Processing all income (including direct debits and gift-aid) and expenditure in accordance with statutory regulations and good accounting practice. Processing bank payments and sales invoices.</p><p> Monthly reconciliation of the Trust’s bank and petty cash accounts, supplier statements, and credit control.</p><p> Assisting the Treasurer in producing and interpreting monthly and quarterly management reports.</p><p> Assisting the Trust Director with the preparation of the annual budget. </p><p> Assisting the Trust Director and Treasurer in monitoring budgets and overseeing cash flow manage- ment.</p><p> Assisting the Trust Director in advising and training Trust staff and volunteers on financial proce- dures and standards</p><p> Provision of information to the Trust Director for grant applications, reports and administration.</p><p> Provision of information to the accountant for preparation of accounts for annual audit.</p><p> Monthly payroll including pension contributions and all submission to HMRC</p><p> Calculating VAT liability and submission of returns</p><p>The above list is not exhaustive and the post holder will, from time to time, be required to undertake other duties consistent with the purpose of the post.</p><p>3. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS Criteria Essential Desirable The post holder should: The post holder should: Qualifications Have an “Accounting Technician” or another accounting qualification</p><p>Knowledge, Skills Be diligent, conscientious, well Be Welsh speaking and Abilities organised and committed to paying Have experience of preparing the close attention to detail end-of-year accounts for audit Have 2 years’ experience of Sage Have experience of working with accounting package Contact Relationship Have 2 years’ experience of book- Management software or similar keeping and the reporting of (i.e. databases that link to management accounts financial processes) Be familiar with standard computer Have experience of managing software, eg. Word, Excel, Outlook Direct Debit and BACS processes Have experience of working with recording, reporting and claiming VAT Have experience of running a payroll system Have knowledge of the legislation relating to company and charitable financial control Be able to work flexibly under own initiative Have good communication skills and be willing to work in a team General Be able to demonstrate a passion for wildlife and environmental issues Be empathetic, especially with volunteers</p><p>4. SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE</p><p>Salary: £19,220 - £20,940 (dependent on experience) pro rata (3 days/week)</p><p>Annual Leave: 24 days plus bank holidays pro rata </p><p>Sick leave: In accordance with the Department of Health’s Statutory Sick Pay Scheme.</p><p>Pension: Contribution of 6% towards stakeholder pension scheme.</p><p>Probation: New entrants to the service shall be subject to a probationary period of 6 months. Notice: Period of notice to terminate employment is one month’s notice from the employee, and 1 week to 12 weeks (depending on time in service) from the employer.</p>
