<p>1</p><p>Name of the Programme: National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness 1. Objective a) To prevent avoidable hearing loss on account of disease or injury.</p><p> b) Early identification, diagnosis and treatment of ear problems responsible for hearing loss and deafness.</p><p> c) To medically rehabilitate persons of all age groups, suffering with deafness.</p><p> d) To strengthen the existing inter-sectoral linkages for continuity of the rehabilitation</p><p> programme, for persons with deafness.</p><p> e) To develop institutional capacity for ear care services by providing support for</p><p> equipment, material and training personnel. 2. Implementation – i) Already started in 9(nine) Districts namely Sibasagar, Jorhat, Nagaon, Darrang, Goalpara, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Kamrup and Nalbari. Proposal for 9 (Nine) new Districts to be implemented under NPPCD-Programme. They are Barpeta/Cachar/Dhubri/Tinsukia/ Dibrugarh/Golaghat/Hailakandi/Karimganj and Kokrajhar. 3. Men Power a) One State Nodal Officer b) Seven Districts Nodal Officer c) Five Audiometric Asstt., Kamrup (M)/ Sivasagar/Sonitpur/ Nalbari and Lakhimpur</p><p>4. Budget We have received fund from Govt. of India during 2011-2012. Rs.1,08,68,250/- Salary released to District Health Society for Audiometric Asstt. for Rs.4,35.000/- for Dist. Kamrup, Sonitpur and Nalbari. Fund released to Districts Health Society for capacity building of Rs.3,85000/- for the Districts, Sivasagar, Nagaon, Goalpara, Lakhimpur and Darrang</p><p>Fund released to District Health Society for training of Rs.24.00000/- for the Districts, Sivasagar, Nagaon, Goalpara, Lakhimpur and Darrang. Fund released to District Health Society for Screening Camps of Rs.90.000/- for the Districts, Sivasagar, Nagaon, Goalpara, Lakhimpur ,Darrang, Kamrup, Sonitpur and Nalbari. Fund released to District Health Society for Men Power of Rs.1,35000/- for the Districts, Sivasagar, Nagaon, Goalpara, Lakhimpur ,Darrang, Kamrup, Sonitpur and Nalbari. 2</p><p>Fund released to District Health Society for Hearing Aids of Rs.36,495/- for the Districts, Sivasagar, Nagaon, Goalpara, Lakhimpur ,Darrang, Kamrup, Sonitpur and Nalbari. Total fund released to District Health Society is Rs.3,48,1495/- No fund is received from Govt. of India for the year 2012-2013 / 2013-2014 and 2014- 2015.</p><p>6. Fund position- Opening Balance of the year 2014-2015 - Rs. 12140511/- Bank Interest - Rs.237410/- Closing Balance - Rs. 12140511/-</p><p>4.
