<p>PACIFIC COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT #1 SPECIAL COMMISSIONERS MEETING MINUTES OF JUNE 19, 2008</p><p>Chairman Greg McLeod established that a quorum was present and called the meeting to order at 17:00. The meeting was held at Station 21-1, located at 26109 Ridge Avenue, Ocean Park. Special meeting notices were delivered per the attached Notice of Special Meeting dated June 12, 2008. In attendance were:</p><p>Commissioner Greg McLeod Office Manager Cheri Jones Commissioner Fred Hill Captain Brad Weatherby Commissioner Tom Downer FF/PM Will Green Fire Chief Jacob Brundage District Secretary Stan Sonntag</p><p>Insurance Proposals: Commissioner McLeod turned the meeting over to Office Manager Cheri Jones who led a discussion regarding the four insurance proposals that were submitted for review. The Board carefully reviewed the coverage, limits, and premiums for the proposals received from:</p><p>Strand Insurance / VFIS Enduris Fournier / CIAW Fournier / ESIP</p><p>Motion by Commissioner Hill to renew the District’s policies with Strand Insurance effective July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. Second by Commissioner Downer. Motion carried.</p><p>Other Business: 1.Electrical Bids for Annex – Captain Brad Weatherby presented the Board with bid information for the electrical work that needs to be done in the annex before the mechanic’s work area can be completed (see scope of work attached with these minutes). Captain Weatherby noted that the rebate mentioned in the bid information has to pass PUD first, so it is not 100% certain; and, there will be approximately a 60-70% usage increase. Commissioner Downer asked if the building temperature had been considered. Captain Weatherby assured the Commissioners that both contractors had done a site visit and are aware of this issue.</p><p>Motion by Commissioner Hill to accept the bid from Ford Electric in the amount of $7,440.00 plus $580.32 in sales tax, per the scope of work as presented for this project. Second by Commissioner Downer. Motion carried. </p><p>02. Surfside Addition – Chief Brundage noted that the Oysterville Station has been sold and that he would like to move forward with plans to add on to the Surfside Station. Captain Weatherby presented the Board with preliminary plans for a 20 x 36 addition, which will provide space for an engine and an ambulance with the required space around each vehicle. </p><p>Certified to be the original minutes of June 19, 2008 Pacific County Fire Protection District 1 1 ______Date______Special Commissioner’s Meeting The Commissioners asked several questions regarding the size of the addition, future needs, Surfside and County regulations, and timing for this project. Following their discussion, they suggested expanding the building and checking into a metal roof. Chief Brundage said that he and Captain Weatherby would look at the site and building plans and the capital budget and report back to the Board in July.</p><p>03. New Ambulance – Chief Brundage reported that the new ambulance has been delivered. The original price quote was $133,000; however, the final cost was $117,000, a savings of $16,000.</p><p>4. Staff Vehicles – Chief Brundage noted that he has been researching some of the hybrid cars/trucks, for possible staff vehicles. Neither Commissioner Downer nor Commissioner McLeod agreed with this recommendation, and suggested looking at State bid options. </p><p>Meeting adjourned at 1820.. </p><p>GREGORY D.
