<p>Short Story Project: Short Story Presentation</p><p>Final Due Date: FRIDAY 2/14/14 Choose one of the following stories to do your short story project on. Do not choose a story that a classmate is doing. All stories can be found as PDF’s on Mr. Reed’s webpage under the Topics/Materials link.</p><p>1. “The Birds” by Daphne du Maurier 2. “The Golden Kite, the Silver Wind” by Ray Bradberry 3. “Old Man of the Temple” by R.K. Narayan 4. “The Rules of the Game” by Amy Tan 5. “The Red-headed League” by Sir Author Conan Doyle 6. "One Ordinary Day, With Peanuts" by Shirley Jackson 7. “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” 8. “The Machine That Won the War” 9. “Talk" by Harold Courlander and George Herzog 10. “Sonata for Harp and Bicycle” 11. “The Man to Send Rain Clouds” by Leslie Marmon Silko 12. “The Harvest” by Tomas Rivera 13. "The Invalid's Story" by Mark Twain 14. "The Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurst 15. "Murders at the Rue Morgue" by Edgar Allen Poe 16. "The Overcoat" by Nikolay Gogol 17. "The Lady or the Tiger" by Frank Stockton </p><p>Short Story Project Requirements: </p><p>1. A short story notes page complete with the title, the author, the setting, the characters, Lit terms, vocabulary, and a paragraph or more summary. </p><p>2. At least 15 reading questions for your short story. Write the answers to your reading questions at the bottom of your paper after you have written the questions. </p><p>3. A reading quiz consisting of 10 quiz questions and a five point bonus question (the bonus question should be the most difficult one). Type the answers to the quiz at the bottom of the paper after you have written the questions. </p><p>4. A small poster sized drawing/depition for the cover of your story. The poster should include the title, the author and a picture that goes along with the story. </p><p>5. Five-minute presentation. You are going to present your story to the class: show the class your poster, give the class a short summary of what happened in the story and choose one of the Lit. terms you found in the story to explain to the class. You need to get your own poster paper. If you are having trouble getting poster paper, come see me and we will work something out. </p>
