<p> JOB DESCRIPTION ______</p><p>Job Title: Senior Lecturer in Applied Positive Psychology Grade: G School: Psychology Campus: Stratford ______</p><p>Contacts Responsible to: The Head of Department and Head of the School of Psychology Liaison with: University Staff, placement supervisors, and external bodies as necessary ______</p><p>Job Purpose To contribute to the academic, professional, research and administrative activities associated with the MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology programme, the Professional Psychology Department and overall the School of Psychology. ______</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities </p><p>1. To make substantial contribution to the MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MAPPCP), on campus and via Distance Learning modes of delivery. </p><p>2. To lead an advanced module in Positive Psychology which revolves around mindfulness, meaning in life, flow, passion and spirituality. The module requires delivering mindfulness interventions. </p><p>3. To lead, refine and promote the integration of Coaching Psychology and Positive Psychology at theoretical and applied levels across the programme delivery. </p><p>4. To provide research supervision on the topic of Applied Positive Psychology at postgraduate levels across the Subject Area.</p><p>5. To undertake research and scholarly activity and contribute to the general research life and activities of the Psychological Interventions Subject Area and the School.</p><p>6. To attend Assessment Boards and other committees, etc as necessary and contribute to the academic administration of the School, for example recruitment functions, open days etc., as required. </p><p>7. To undertake other duties as reasonably required by the Head of Department and the Head of the School of Psychology. PERSON SPECIFICATION</p><p>Post: Senior Lecturer in Applied Positive Psychology </p><p>Grade: G</p><p>School: Psychology </p><p>EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:</p><p>Essential criteria 1. Post – graduate qualification in Positive Psychology (A)</p><p>Desirable criteria 2. Professional Doctorate or PhD in a relevant area – completed or near completion (6 months); or equivalent professional experience (A, I) 3. Member of a relevant Professional Body (A)</p><p>KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:</p><p>Essential criteria 4. Module leadership and teaching experience in HE settings (A, P, I) 5. Knowledge of current developments in the field of Positive Psychology and especially in relation to its cross fertilisation with Coaching Psychology (A, I) 6. Experience of e- and Distance Learning provision (A, I) 7. Experience of supervising PG research projects.</p><p>Desirable criteria 8. Relevant research publications, conference presentations or activities such as experience of obtaining research grants, consultancy, CPD or income generation (A, I) </p><p>SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p><p>Essential criteria 9. Demonstrable ability to teach effectively, using a variety of teaching methods and modes of delivery. (A, P) 10. A demonstrably strong commitment to teaching and effective learning, working collaboratively with students and staff to improve the experience of all (A, P I) 11. Ability to undertake administration, monitor own work and successfully deliver excellent teaching whilst proactively meeting deadlines and developing good professional relationships within a team-oriented context. (A, P I) 12. Experience of delivering positive psychology interventions (A, I) 13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (A, I, P) 14. Commitment to and understanding of equal opportunities issues within a diverse and multicultural environment (A, I)</p><p>OTHER ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:</p><p>Essential criteria 15.
