<p>Back to School 2015</p><p>Primary School</p><p>Improving teaching quality Every teacher in every government school will have a performance and development plan to improve their classroom teaching practice.</p><p>Every permanent beginning teacher in their first two years now has access to additional support, including, during their first year, an experienced teacher as a mentor to strengthen their teaching practice.</p><p>311 schools with K-2 students, will be working with Instructional Leaders to improve the quality of literacy and numeracy teaching in the school.</p><p>Underperforming teachers will be dealt with through a quicker process to effectively address their failure to meet required standards.</p><p>Resources equivalent to 200 new full time equivalent teachers will be available to the three sectors as part of the Literacy and Numeracy Action Plan. This will bring resources equivalent to 700 new full time equivalent teachers as part of the Action Plan.</p><p>Fairer Funding $382M in equity funding to support the additional learning needs of primary school students.</p><p>Additional funding is being provided through the loadings for Aboriginal background, socio- economic background, low level adjustment for disability and English language proficiency.</p><p>Better school facilities</p><p>3 new primary schools opening  Victoria Avenue Public School </p><p> Lake Cathie Public School</p><p> Riverbank Public School</p><p>1 new school for specific purposes opening  The Ponds School</p><p>1 relocated school opening  Wangee Park School</p><p>Significantly upgraded schools 10 primary schools, 1 central school and 1 school for specific purposes.</p><p>Supporting students with disabilities Over $9.5M allocated in 78 primary and central schools to ensure they are accessible to students with disabilities.</p><p>NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES WWW.DEC.NSW.GOV.AU 1 Over $16M allocated to upgrade classrooms and improve toilets in 96 primary and central schools and schools for specific purposes.</p><p>Improved facilities 108 primary and central schools and schools for specific purposes improved through joint funding of capital works between the State Government and local school communities including new covered outdoor learning areas and walkways, canteen improvements, sports courts and admin areas.</p>
