Read Genesis 4:1-16…</p><p>- What was Cain’s weakness?</p><p>- Do you think this was the first time Cain got angry and acted upon those feelings? Explain your answer</p><p>- Read verses 6-8 … Cain’s anger had become such a stronghold in his life that God could not even talk Cain into doing the right thing…</p><p>- Is there any sin in your life right now that has a stronghold and is leading you down an ungodly path…confess it to God and turn away from it…run from it</p><p>2. In Sunday’s message we talked about how sin has a progressive cycle</p><p>Thoughts – lead to Actions – which lead to Habits- which develops a Character- which leads to a Destiny</p><p>When you look at sin’s progressive cycle you see that the battle is won or lost in the mind</p><p>Read the following verses and discuss how you can implement these verses into your life</p><p>- Romans 12:2…Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.</p><p>- Phil 4:8…Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.</p><p>- 2 Cor 10:5…take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.</p><p>Application: everyday we are bombarded by temptations…the mind controlled by the Spirit leads to Godly living…the mind controlled by the flesh leads to ungodly living. Take control of your mind today by the power of God’s Holy Spirit! Put a spiritual filter on your mind…</p>
