<p> Event Information 18th Rupert’s Land Colloquium Grande Prairie, Alberta 16-19 May 2018</p><p>The 2018 Colloquium takes place on the campus of Grande Prairie Regional College and is being hosted by the South Peace Regional Archives. Grande Prairie is also home to a new Art Gallery, the Grande Prairie Live Theatre, the Heritage Discovery Centre and several museums. Please note the art gallery is open late on Thursdays and would make a fantastic outing for delegates wanting to get out and about.</p><p>Wednesday Reception/Registration</p><p>This year’s reception will be held at Centre 2000 (11330 106 Street), a beautiful facility located on the northern edge of Muskoseepi Park. This facility also includes the Heritage Discovery Centre which delegates may visit during the reception. Early registration will be set up for guests. The reception is included in the cost of the Full Colloquium. </p><p>Thursday/Friday Colloquium</p><p>All sessions will be held in the Grande Prairie Regional College. A registration and information table will be set up in the hallway of A-Wing between 8:00 and 10:30 am, when morning coffee and tea will be available. The Plenary session begins at 9:00 a.m. Display tables and poster presentations will be onsite for the duration of the colloquium. </p><p>*Friday Banquet</p><p>The banquet will be taking place at Centre 2000 and will be catered by Jeffrey’s Café Company. The menu will consist of Rosemary Roast Beef, Pan Roasted Chicken Breast or Grilled Tofu. Details and side dishes to be announced shortly. The cost for the banquet is $65 or $45 for post-secondary students. Non-delegate guests are more than welcome to attend.</p><p>*The cost of the banquet is $65 or $45 for post-secondary students and is not included in the Colloquium registration fees. </p><p>*Field Trip: This year’s field trip will be an all day bus trip with David Leonard acting as tour guide. Our first stop will be Historic Dunvegan, a provincially and nationally designated historic site located in the beautiful Peace River valley, where we can enjoy interpreters wearing period clothing and fully restored historic buildings. Next, we will go to Peace River where we will visit the Peace River Museum Archives & Mackenzie Centre. This site boasts a “canoe shed” gallery housing many original small artifacts excavated from the Fort Fork site, the fireplace which was relocated from Fort Fork, and a table top replica of Fort Fork. Other stops along the way may occur if time permits. The cost of the field trip is $50 per person and includes both breakfast and lunch.</p><p>*The cost of this field trip is not included in the Colloquium Registration fee. </p>
