<p>1006 Golfview Ave. apt 17 5 February 2007</p><p>I am interested in filling an internship in electrical engineering at General Electric. I first learned of this opportunity when GE came to a career-day promotional event at the Pennsylvania State University, where I am currently a junior in Engineering Science and Electrical Engineering.</p><p>My creative approach to technical problems which stems from a lifelong interest in writing and music, paired with my dual major in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Science, would make me a valuable asset to GE. Engineering Science is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on basic-level sciences, equipping students with the ability to attack problems from multiple points of view. This results in more effective research and design. Currently I am looking for a research topic for a senior thesis, which I find difficult because everything is interesting. Working for GE would allow me to explore various aspects of what an engineer actually does; what different areas are available for me to pursue. I will wholeheartedly work on any project GE has available and I can confidently say that I would find it interesting and fun, and that I would make a valuable addition to the team. </p><p>As I mentioned, I am also interested in writing, and I currently serve as president to a student-run literary magazine. While I am fulfilling this role, I am using my technical background to streamline many of the duties that the editors must perform. During this process, I must work closely with a programmer to explain what I need from the system and to explore new possible solutions to the challenges that arise. I understand that GE often works with clients in the same manner. Having seen this process from the other side would give me valuable insight, and I would love to be on the team coming up with the solution. </p><p>My resume is attached for your review.
