<p>Romeo and Juliet Act IV Survey Notes</p><p>Friar and Paris discuss the marriage (Capulet has moved it up so Juliet won’t be so sad over “Tybalt’s death”)</p><p>Juliet and Friar talk of the marriage. She says: Only tell me how to get out of it. Or I will kill myself. </p><p>The Plan: Go home and say you’ll marry Paris. Sleep alone. Drink this vial of “stuff.” Puts you in death-looking sleep. 42 hours. Carry her to the vault where dead Capulets lie. Meanwhile….Friar will have gotten Romeo from Mantua. They’ll wait for her to wake. And Romeo will take her to Mantua. </p><p>Scene iii</p><p>Juliet and the potion </p><p>Monologue debates whether she should drink potion:</p><p>Can I trust Laurence? What if I wake too early? What if I lose my mind? Scene v. They discover Juliet is dead. We’ll use all the wedding stuff now for the funeral</p>
