Enclosed Packs Are: Charged Discharged

 Because your battery packs are specialty builds and built to order:

 The first ten or more charge – discharge cycles of your new Ni-CD battery inserts are very important to building the muscle / character of the pack (s). Let them COOL!

 In an ideal world:

o You should run your new Ni-CD battery rebuild through ten to twenty full charge discharge cycles as you use the battery packs to build the character of the pack. o You can accomplish this by placing the battery on your charger and selecting the auto-calibrate mode for the first ten to twelve times you come in from a shoot. After that time period, place the new battery on a maintenance schedule of auto- calibrate about one time every eight weeks. This will keep the new battery (s) maintained as well as possible. o If you do not have an auto-calibrate mode, during a shoot, while you are “under load”, use your viewfinder to run the battery down as close to 10.0 volts as possible for the first ten to twelve charge – discharge cycles. Most cameras cut off at around 11.0 Volts. o If this is just not feasible for you then do the best that you can. You can only do what you can do. What NOT to do: . Many well intended shooters, wanting to discharge the battery properly, and not having a more sophisticated charger or, an analyzer such as PAG or Cadex, at some point decide to leave the camera powered ON. Then they forget about the camera and battery. DO NOT DO THIS! . If you drain the battery below .9 volts per cell you may damage the cells. . If you drain the battery below approximately .7 volts per cell your charger may NOT recognize the battery and you must send it back to us. If the pack has not been forced into a reverse discharge we can place a direct charge on the battery pack for a few minutes thus bringing the battery pack up to a voltage that any charger will recognize.

At Rathbone Energy, Inc., we are constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of our products and at the same time reduce the amount of waste produced.
