LEACH, SR. for Committee. 24 </p><p>1 [1242-1] 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 10 11 TO REQUEST THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF 12 TRANSPORTATION TO NAME THE HIGHWAY 703 13 CAUSEWAY IN CHARLESTON COUNTY, FROM 14 SULLIVAN’S ISLAND TO THE BEN SAWYER BRIDGE, IN 15 HONOR OF LOUIS STITH, SR. AND TO ERECT 16 APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS AT BOTH ENDS OF 17 THE CAUSEWAY CONTAINING THE WORDS “LOUIS 18 STITH SR. MEMORIAL CAUSEWAY”. 19 20 Whereas, the late Louis Stith, Sr. spent a lifetime serving the Town 21 of Sullivan’s Island and surrounding communities, the State of 22 South Carolina, and this nation; and 23 24 Whereas, the members of the General Assembly consider it both 25 appropriate and a privilege to recognize those vital contributions 26 and his lifetime of service by naming the Highway 703 Causeway 27 in Charleston County, between the point at which it leaves 28 Sullivan’s Island and the beginning of the Ben Sawyer Bridge, the 29 “Louis Stith Sr. Memorial Causeway”. Now, therefore, 30 31 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives 32 concurring: 33 34 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 35 Carolina, by this resolution, request the South Carolina 36 Department of Transportation to name the Highway 703 Causeway 37 in Charleston County from Sullivan’s Island to the Ben Sawyer 38 Bridge in honor of Louis Stith, Sr. and to erect appropriate markers 39 or signs at both ends of the causeway containing the words “Louis 40 Stith Sr. Memorial Causeway”. 41</p><p>1 [1242] 1 1 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 2 Mayor J.
