Sing Song “Reading is so fun to me”</p><p>Vocabulary and Definitions Vocabulary Activity (10 Minutes) Shadow-a dark figure made by the sun Students will play vocabulary bingo and Fishing Pole- a long stick with a string several sight words and letters will be added and a hook used to catch fish to the board, such as letters A-H, and Pond-small body of water to fish in Cliff- the top of a mountain Shovel- a tool used to dig up dirt Book and Pages to Read Bear Shadow by Frank Asch Read all pages Type of Reading (15 Minutes) Circle 1 Popcorn Paired Independent Choral Teacher Led Picture Walk</p><p>Objective By the end of this activity, students will be able to… Retell what is read to them, Follow 1 or 2 step directions</p><p>Direct Instruction (25 Minutes)Activities students will do to meet the above objective Teacher Will Students Will teacher will pass out 5 flash cards to each Listen to teacher’s description of student with a picture of each vocabulary vocabulary words, receive flash cards with word on it, explain certain characteristics a picture of each vocabulary word, hold up of the words and then play what am I?, the correct card when the teacher the teacher will give the students clues to describes it, and finally color all flash help them answer the question “What am cards to make them their own I?” </p><p>Summarizing Activity (5 Minutes) assess whether students have mastered skill Teacher will ask students to name all 5 vocabulary words</p>
