They are placed with volunteer hosts on a night by night basis, while experienced service staff ensure that they are addressing their longer term housing needs and will help them to access specialist services if necessary.</p><p>For reference only the role of a Nightstop host is as follows: </p><p> To provide clean, safe, basic overnight accommodation  To provide breakfast and an evening meal for the person using the accommodation  To communicate with people on a one to one, non judgemental basis  To liaise with the Nightstop project team regarding availability and to provide regular feedback after every placement  To attend periodic reviews and meetings with Nightstop project staff  To attend an initial training programme prior to undertaking the role  To attend periodic training during the course of the role</p><p>Nightstop ™ Nightstop GP Reference Form</p><p>The role of volunteer host can be challenging, demanding and stressful. I would be grateful if you could provide a short statement regarding the applicant’s ability to carry out this role. In particular please consider any history of anxiety, depression, stress-related conditions or serious physical illness. </p><p>Finally, in accordance with our policy, this letter may be shown to prospective hosts.
