June 12, 1994 – HL7 becomes an ANSI accredited Standards Developing Organization . December 1994 – Published version 2.2 . September 1995 – HL7 published the Version 2.2 Implementation Support Guide . February 8, 1996 – Version 2.2 receives approval as an ANSI standard, becoming the first in the health care domain to receive this accreditation . April 1997 – Published Version 2.3 . January 1998 – “Health Level Seven Messaging over Component Technologies” developed by the Object Brokering Technologies Special Interest Group, is successfully balloted as an information document .
