<p>Honors World History Mr. Wisniewski Room 207</p><p>Welcome to Honors World History. This course is fulfilling one of your graduation requirements. If you fail this class you will need to take general World History in order to graduate.</p><p>Course Description</p><p>This course will involve the study of world history, all of it. We will cover ancient world history through modern world history. Some eras will be covered briefly and others will be covered more in depth.</p><p>The thing that makes this course an “Honors” course is the increased expectations and workload. Compared to the general World History course, Honors World History will primarily have more daily reading and writing with more intensive projects to be completed.</p><p>The course will look at the political, social, and cultural sides of events and eras. A variety of assignments and learning tools will be utilized including but not limited to:</p><p>1. Note-taking 2. Readings (textbook, primary sources, secondary sources, etc) 3. Videos/DVD’s 4. Discussion 5. Worksheets 6. Writing exercises 7. Projects</p><p>Course Necessities</p><p>You will need to have the following things for class everyday unless told otherwise:</p><p>1. Pen (blue or black) or a mechanical pencil 2. Binder with loose-leaf notebook paper 3. Highlighter (optional) </p><p>Grade Breakdown</p><p>Tests 25% Quizzes and assignments 25% Binder 10% Participation and Behavior 10% Quarter Project 30%</p><p>Note: If you do not turn in a quarter project you will have a difficult time passing. Grading Scale</p><p>Min Score A+ 100% A 93% A- 90% B+ 87% B 83% B- 80% C+ 77% C 73% C- 70% D+ 67% D 63% D- 60% F Below 60%</p><p>Cell Phone Policy: All cell phone should be put away when the bell rings. If I must tell you to put it away more than once the phone becomes mine and will be sent to the office. There will be certain instances when students will be allowed to have their phones out. These will be announced by the teacher. Examples will be during computer lab time, after unit exams, and other times as determined by the teacher. </p><p>PHONES SHOULD NEVER BE HEARD IN MY CLASSROOM!!! </p><p>Other Classroom Items</p><p>1. No food or beverages allowed in the classroom except bottled water. 2. You should read the Welcome Board upon entering the room as well as the Agenda Board.</p><p>Availability outside of class</p><p>Please ask questions when you are unsure of anything pertaining to the course. I am available before school every day after 7:00 a.m. After school I am available until 3:00 p.m. every day.
