<p> REQUEST- NOT TO HAVE A TEACHER</p><p>We send out a notice in our school newsletters that states the following: </p><p>Parents may elect to request to NOT have a particular teacher for their child one time during their child's K-5th grade experience. </p><p>They must make this request by calling and setting up a meeting with the building principal to state the reasons they feel this match is not beneficial educationally for their child. </p><p>The requests must be done by the first week in May. (We usually set a date for the first Friday in May). </p><p>We also state that requests are not automatically granted. It depends on the classroom make up, etc. </p><p>My first year we had over 45 requests. </p><p>Then we put this policy into place and have really limited the requests. I would recommend not allowing any requests, but this was a compromise with parents. </p>
