Saturday, March 14, 2015 10 am–12 noon at Breeze Thru Agility, Brattleboro, VT Cost: $50 Instructed by Barbara Eriksson who teaches based on the AKC Rally program Limited to 6 teams—so lots of training time for each dog and handler team! Pre-registration required—sign up soon!!

What is Rally? In Rally Obedience you and your dog learn to work as a team to execute various behaviors and patterns which are eventually performed in a longer course as directed by signs for each move. At each sign you perform the exercise described and then move along to the next sign on the course. The handler is allowed to walk and learn a course without the dog prior to performing it. Adding to the upbeat atmosphere of Rally is that the handler can reward, praise and encourage the dogs as they make their way around the course (unlike formal competition obedience).

Instructor: Barb Eriksson will introduce you to the fundamental exercises for Rally, which will develop your skills. Whether or not you plan to continue or compete in Rally Obedience or not, you'll learn some great skills and spend time learning to better communicate with your dog.

Rally Workshop Prerequisites: Your dog should be able to perform basic behaviors on cue, such as sit, heel and down, though these behaviors do not have to be perfect. No dog or human reactive dogs please, as we will be working near one another and in close quarters.

Bio: Barbara Eriksson is an APDT-KA certified trainer at Canine Head Start in Montague, Massachusetts. She believes in using positive training methods to help dogs and their humans build more harmonious relationships. She is currently training and competing with her Border Collie, Dozen in Rally, Agility and Herding and they most recently earned their AKC Rally Excellent title.

For More Information and to sign up contact: Elise at [email protected] or Call: 802-463-1084.
