<p> Introduction to Art / Sketchpad Assignments February 2016 Mrs. Sherrill</p><p>All drawings must be fully shaded and fill the page. Homework is due on Thursdays and will not receive full credit if it is late. Work that is more than one week late may not be accepted. Work on torn or lined paper will not be accepted.</p><p>1. FEB 4: Draw a person doing something in the snow (shoveling, sledding, skiing, throwing snowballs…) Use correct figure proportions, and make the person look active.</p><p>2. WEDNESDAY, FEB 10: Draw a vehicle, in detail. You may draw a car, bike, motorcycle, bus, or truck. Put the vehicle on a road or driveway and make your drawing fill the page.</p><p>3. FEB 18: Draw a sign that you might see on top of a building, using 1-point perspective. You may make it look like 3-D letters sticking up from a building, or a word painted on the side of a building. Remember to use a vanishing point.</p><p>4. FEB 25: Draw a sign that you might see on top of a building, using 2- point perspective. You may make it look like 3-D letters sticking up from a building, or a word painted on the side of a building. Remember to use 2 vanishing points.</p><p>5. MARCH 3: Draw an animal. Look at a pet or at a photograph of an animal. Do not draw a cartoon animal. Fill the page and use a full range of values.</p><p>6. MARCH 10: Draw your nose and mouth, looking in a mirror or at a photo. Shading is very important, because your nose and mouth are made of different values, not outlines. Try to see where you need to use lighter and darker values. How big is your mouth compared to your nose? Your upper lip compared to the lower? What is the exact shape of your lips? </p><p>7. MARCH 17: Draw an outdoor scene. You must decide what season you are drawing, and make it look like that season. Fill the page.</p><p>8. MARCH 24: Free choice. You may draw anything you choose, but it must be a shaded drawing that fills the page.</p>
